Powerlord was an American power and thrash metal band from Oklahoma City , Oklahoma , which was formed in 1984 and broke up around 1987. The currently last known appearance took place on April 24, 1987 in the Diamond Ballroom Oklahoma City.
history
The band was formed in 1984 by guitarist Tony Gourley. A short time later, his brother Bob, who had previously been a drummer with Dark Angel and for a short time with Slayer , bassist Brian Massey and singer Dane Cook joined them and completed the line-up. After the band had developed some songs, the first and only self-released album followed in 1986, before the band split up again. The album was re-released on Shark Records in 1986 .
style
The band played a mixture of power and thrash metal similar to the early works of Exciter , Agent Steel's debut album Skeptics Apocalypse or Second Coming of Attacker .
