presence was an Austrian , Christian Social weekly newspaper , published from 1973 to 1997 in Innsbruck.

On December 22nd, 1892 the predecessor organ Tiroler Volksbote appeared for the first time as the second publication (after the Brixen Chronicle ) of the Catholic-Political Press Association . In 1907 the two "press associations" from Brixen and Bozen merged to form the publishing house Tyrolia GmbH (today: Athesia ). After the First World War and the separation of South Tyrol from Austria and the annexation of the region by Italy, Michael Gamper headed the paper. Discontinued during the Second World War, the newspaper appeared from February 28, 1946 as Der Volksbote . With the copy dated October 11, 1973, the newspaper was renamed to present: Austrian weekly newspaper for politics, religion, society and culture . From 1987 to 1993 Hanns Humer was editor-in-chief of the newspaper.
