Prevention goals

Prevention goals are aimed at preventing illnesses and accidents. Targeted measures in prevention are intended to achieve clearer successes. Prevention goals also enable a better review of preventive action.

There is no standardized procedure for developing prevention goals. Basically, a distinction can be made between data-based (retrospective element, objective assessment) and expert-based methods (retro- and prospective elements, subjective assessment). A procedure for developing prevention goals, in which both approaches are interlinked, was developed as part of the Health and Work initiative .

The procedure has already been used to determine prevention goals for the world of work (data from employers' liability insurance associations and statutory health insurance) and to set workplace-related prevention goals for the entire statutory health insurance system. Overall goals, sub-goals and measures are derived from the established priorities, such as diseases of the skin, the psyche or due to noise .
