Precision Rifle Squad

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Precision rifle commandos ( PSK ) are groups of specially trained members of special units of the police forces of the federal states, which have been integrated into the SEKs of the states. Border Guard Group 9 of the Federal Police was set up at the federal level , formerly the Federal Border Guard .

A PSK was used when the precise use of firearms was also required at greater distances . However, the shooting distance that a precision marksman has to deal with is much shorter than that of a sniper who is enough to hit the body with an inability to move. The precision shooter, on the other hand, must be able to safely fire a final rescue shot . In most operational situations, especially in urban areas, the shooting ranges are around 100 m, rarely more. Long guns from various manufacturers are used for this without exception . The ammunition is matched to the weapon.

The " final rescue shot " is - if necessary - carried out by the PSK. In the GSG 9, the 1st operational unit specializes in precision shooting.
