Multishow is a Brazilian television channel dedicated primarily to entertainment and broadcast by satellite and cable. The broadcaster, founded in 1991, belongs to Globosat , a branch of the Grupo Globo , the largest media group in Latin America, which also includes Rede Globo , the most important television broadcaster in Brazil. Multishow mainly competes with MTV Brasil .

In addition to music programs, the broadcaster primarily broadcasts programs and series aimed at a younger target audience.

Multishow FM

Multishow FM is a radio station currently broadcast by GloboRádio in collaboration with Globosat from the studios of Sistema Globo de Rádio in Rio de Janeiro, currently broadcast on the Internet and the resources of NET Digital and SKY Brasil . There are plans to broadcast terrestrially via VHF soon .

Music prizes, the Prêmios Multishow de Música Brasileira , have been awarded every year since 1995 . In addition to MTV Video Music Brasil , they are among the most important in Brazil. The award ceremonies traditionally took place in the Theatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro . In 2009 and 2010, respectively, the citibank Hall and Arena Olímpica do Rio , also known as Arena Multiuso , both in Barra da Tijuca in western Rio, were the venues.
