Pröbsten is a residential area in the Hartem district in the municipality-free district of Osterheide in the Heidekreis district . Pröbsten was a village in the old district of Fallingbostel , located in the Heidmark in Lower Saxony . It belonged to the municipality of Böstlingen together with Fahrenholz .

history

The first documentary mention of Pröbsten is in the archive of the Walsrode monastery . December 21, 1337: Domprobst Brünung Minden invested the wife of squires Albert provosts, with the Victualgütern.

The documents in the Walsrode monastery register show that there was an aristocratic family called "von Pröpsten". Heath farmers lived in Pröbsten . One branch of business was probably the heather sheep keeping , which was widespread in this area until the 19th century.

In the course of the establishment of the Bergen military training area , the resettlement of the population and the evacuation of the entire area took place from summer 1935 to May 1936. The farm owners were compensated, the buildings were mostly demolished. (see Heidmark # Destruction of Ostheidmark in the time of National Socialism ) After the Second World War , refugees were temporarily housed in the remaining buildings .

Population development

The population development of the Böstlingen peasantry was as follows:
1770 - 157 inhabitants,
1821 - 207 inhabitants,
1933 - 208 inhabitants
