Pradeep Kumar Rawat is an Indian diplomat.

Career

Rawat joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1990. Between 1992 and 1997 he worked in Hong Kong and Beijing . After returning to Delhi in 1997, he worked for three years in the East Asia department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. thereafter he was first secretary of the Indian mission in Mauritius . Between 2003 and 2007 he was Deputy Chief of the Indian Embassy in Beijing and from 2007 to 2009 Director for China in the East Asia Department. This was followed by ten months during which he was seconded to the South Asian University. Finally, Rawat was Joint Secretary at the State Department from August 2013 to August 2017.

On September 11, 2017, Rawat was appointed Indian ambassador to Indonesia and East Timor . Rawat handed over his accreditation for East Timor on February 22, 2018.

Rawat is a vegetarian. He speaks fluent Chinese and is married to Shruti Rawat. They have two daughters together.
