The Praga Piccolo was a small car that was built in various series from 1924 to 1941 by Praga in over 17,000 copies. With him, Praga competed against Tatra, which built the small cars ( T11, T12 and T57 ) at the same time . Contemporary cars in other countries were the British Austin 7 and in Germany the small cars from Opel: 4 hp "Laubfrosch" , P4 , Kadett .
variants
1st - 3rd Series: The water-cooled four-cylinder engine had a 50 mm bore and 90 mm stroke and developed 9 hp (6.6 kW) at 2000 rpm. The transmission had 3 forward and one reverse gears. The consumption was 7 liters of petrol and 0.3 l of oil / 100 km. Depending on the version, the price was between 28,000 and 44,000 crowns. 500 vehicles were produced in 1924, and another 300 in 1925.
4th-6th Series: 1500 pieces in 1926. The bore was enlarged to 54 mm, the engine now developed 12.5 HP (9.2 kW) at 2800 rpm. The consumption was 7.3 liters of petrol and 0.3 liters of oil per 100 km. The prices did not change.
7th series: 2400 pieces from 1927 to 1928. The bore was then enlarged to 55 mm, the engine developed 13 HP (9.6 kW). The fuel consumption was 7.5 liters per 100 km.
8-20 Series: 6500 pieces from 1928 to 1932. Completely new engine with 60 × 88 mm bore × stroke, it now developed 18 HP (13 kW) at 3100 rpm. The petrol consumption was 9-10 l / 100 km. The car cost between about 30,000 and 40,000 crowns.
Series 201-205: Series: 2200 pieces from 1932 to 1934. The engine output rose to 21 HP (15 kW) at 3200 rpm.
21.-23. Series: 911 pieces built from 1932 to 1934 parallel to the vehicles of the 201st series. New engine with 70 × 94 mm bore × stroke, it now developed 28 hp (21 kW) at 3000 rpm. The fuel consumption was 10 l / 100 km. The car cost between 45,000 and 52,000 kroner.
31.-36. Series: 3 pieces in 1937, 700 pieces in 1938, 1,500 pieces in 1939 and 500 pieces in 1941. New engine with 65 × 85 mm bore × stroke, it now developed 25 HP (18 kW) at 3000 rpm, in some variants up to 30 HP (22 kW) at 3500 rpm. The fuel consumption was 10 l / 100 km. From 1938 the transmission had 4 instead of 3 forward gears. The car cost between 28,800 and 34,500 crowns.
