Pratchaya Phinthong

Pratchaya Phinthong (* 1974 in Ubon Ratchathani ) is a Thai conceptual artist .

life and work

Phinthong graduated from Silpakorn University in Bangkok with a Bachelor of Fine Art degree in 2000 . In 2004 he became a master student at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main with Tobias Rehberger .

"Pratchaya Phinthong's artistic practice revolves around the dialectic of materialization and dematerialization and addresses economic value - the most abstract force known to mankind, and at the same time the most concrete and the one that causes the most suffering."
