The Precious Shipping Public Company Limited (PSL) is a bulk carrier - and multi-purpose vessel -Reederei based in Bangkok , Thailand .
history
The company was founded in 1989 by Kirit Shah and began commercial operations in 1991 after approval by the Bank of Thailand and the Thailand Board of Investment . On September 16, 1993 PSL was included in the SET 100 . Before the financial and economic crisis , the shipping company owned up to 44 ships. As part of a restructuring plan, the shipping company's oldest ships were sold and partially replaced by newer and larger ships. In 2012, the fleet was almost able to be expanded back to the pre-crisis level.
In July 2013 the shipping company owned a fleet of 39 ships. A further 11 new buildings are to be added by 2014, three of which are to be delivered in 2013.
Khalid Moinuddin Hashim is in charge, and Thira Wipuchanin is the Chairman of the Supervisory Board. The largest shareholder in the shipping company is the founder's daughter, Nishita Shah Federbush, with currently 43% (as of December 2010).
