Arcevia is an Italian municipality (comune) with 4325 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Ancona in Marche .
geography
The municipality is located about 48 kilometers southwest of Ancona . The municipality belongs to the Comunità montana dell'Esino Frasassi . The Misa flows through the community .
The districts include Avacelli, Castiglioni, Caudino, Colle Aprico, Conce di Arcevia, Costa, Loretello, Magnadorsa, Montale, Monte Sant'Angelo, Nidastore, Palazzo, Piticchio, Prosano, Ripalta, San Ginesio di Arcevia, San Giovanni Battista, San Pietro in Musio, Sant'Apollinare, Santo Stefano and Vado.

history
A Gallic necropolis has been preserved from the Iron Age. Arcevia first appeared in a document with its original name Rocca Contrada in 1065. In 1817 the town received city rights and its new name Arcevia .

There is a common train station with the neighboring municipality of Sassoferrato on the route from Pergola to Fabriano . The former Strada Statale 360 Arceviese (today: Provincial Road) from Senigallia to Scheggia e Pascelupo also runs through the village .
