Osimo is an Italian commune in the province of Ancona in the Marche region with 35,155 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019).
history
In 1663, St. Joseph of Copertino , patron of the city, died in Osimo.
The place is also known for the Osimo Treaty signed here on November 10, 1975 , with which the border between Italy and Yugoslavia was finally fixed.
The Diocese of Osimo existed since the 7th century. It was united in 1986 with the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Ancona , which is now called the Archdiocese of Ancona-Osimo . The Duomo di San Leopardo is co- cathedral of the diocese. It was essentially built in the 12th and 13th centuries.

On May 23, 1994, the second stage of the Giro d'Italia in Osimo ended with Moreno Argentin's victory . At the Giro d'Italia 1987 too , Osimo was the stage destination and start.
