Montemarciano is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 9902 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Ancona in Marche . The municipality is located about 16 kilometers (as the crow flies) west of Ancona at the mouth of the Esino in the Adriatic Sea .
