Trecastelli is an Italian commune ( comune ) with 7563 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Ancona in Marche . The municipality was created on January 1, 2014 through the merger of the previously independent municipalities of Castel Colonna , Ripe and Monterado .

Location of Trecastelli in the province of Ancona

The municipality is located about 33 kilometers north of the provincial and regional capital Ancona . It borders directly on the province of Pesaro and Urbino and is in the climatic classification of Italian municipalities in zone D, 1 854. The town hall is in Ripe. The Cesano River flows through the municipality .

The neighboring communities are Corinaldo , Mondolfo ( PU ), Monte Porzio (PU), Ostra , San Costanzo (PU) and Senigallia .
