Castel Colonna

Castel Colonna is a place in the municipality of Trecastelli and was an Italian municipality ( comune ) in the province of Ancona in Marche until 2014 . The place is 125 mslm about 33 kilometers from Ancona in the immediate vicinity of the province of Pesaro and Urbino . It is nine kilometers to the northeast to the Adriatic Sea . Tomba di Senigallia was the name of the municipality until 1921. The Cesano formed the northern boundary of the municipality. The local saint is Marina of Bithynia .

On January 1, 2014, Castel Colonna merged with the municipalities of Ripe and Monterado to form the new municipality of Trecastelli . On December 31, 2013, the municipality had 1,058 inhabitants on 13.3 km². Neighboring communities were Corinaldo , Mondolfo (PU), Monterado , Ripe and Senigallia . The Croce, Francavilla and Giombino factions belonged to Castel Colonna .
