Pergola is an Italian municipality with 6012 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Pesaro and Urbino in the Marche region .

geography

The place is about 60 km west of Ancona , the capital of the Marche region, in the wine-rich valley of the Cesano river , which flows east to the Adriatic Sea .

In 1946 valuable Roman bronze statues from the 1st century AD were found in a field , the golden bronzes by Cartoceto di Pergola , for which a museum was set up.
