Serra Sant'Abbondio (in the Gallomarchic dialect: la Sèrra ) is an Italian commune ( comune ) with 960 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Pesaro and Urbino in the Marches . The municipality is located about 48 kilometers south-southwest of Pesaro and about 28 kilometers south-southeast of Urbino , belongs to the Comunità montana del Catria e Cesano and borders directly on the provinces of Ancona and Perugia .

The Fonte Avellana , a Catholic monastery founded in the 10th century, is located in the municipality .
