Colli al Metauro is an Italian municipality ( comune ) with 12,336 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2019) in the province of Pesaro and Urbino in Marche .

geography

The municipality is located about 15 km south of Pesaro and about 23 km east of Urbino . The regional capital Ancona is about 50 km to the southeast. The community is 66  m slm . The highest point is at 464  m slm , the lowest point of the municipality at 37  m slm The river Metauro flows through the municipality .

The neighboring municipalities include Cartoceto , Mombaroccio , Mondavio , Monteciccardo , Montefelcino , Sant'Ippolito and Terre Roveresche .

history

The municipality was created on January 1, 2017 through the merger of the previously independent municipalities of Montemaggiore al Metauro , Saltara and Serrungarina . The town hall is located in Calcinelli, a district that used to belong to Saltara. In the vote on the municipal merger on November 13, 2016, in Montemaggiore al Metauro 64.73% (63.44% turnout) voted against the merger, in Saltara 69.03% (44.15% turnout) and in Serrungarina 53.62 % (47.92% turnout) for the merger. In the overall result of the three municipalities, 4,777 valid votes (55.52%) were in favor of the union of municipalities, which was created with the Legge Regionale law n.29 of December 7th 2016 .
