The Stempel-Schneidler typeface is the classic among the typefaces of the Venetian Renaissance Antiqua group . It was designed in 1939 by Ernst Schneidler for the D. Stempel AG type foundry in Frankfurt.

The Stempel-Schneidler is, so to speak, the extremist of their group, u. a. due to their clearly visible serif indentations. An alternative to this would be the Weidemann developed in 1983 by Kurt Weidemann , which is perfect for paragraph text from an economic point of view .
