Attractions

The well-preserved remains of Ribnica Castle, first mentioned in 1263, which was partially destroyed in the Second World War, are worth seeing.

The parish church, renovated after the Second World War according to plans by Jože Plečnik , is also worth seeing with its two bell towers.

Craft

In Ribnica, pottery and woodwork have an ancient tradition. This tradition got its origin when Friedrich III. in 1492 allowed the residents of Ribnica free trade in homemade products. Every year on the first Sunday of September there is a widely known wood and pottery market.

Parish partnership

A partnership with the Italian municipality of Arcevia in the Marche region has existed since 1972 .
