Šmarješke Toplice (German: Töplitz ) is a municipality in the Dolenjska / Lower Carniola region in Slovenia .

The total community, which consists of 24 localities and hamlets, is home to 3101 people. The main town Šmarješke Toplice alone has 492 inhabitants. The municipality is located northeast of Novo mesto .

history
Šmarješke Toplice broke away from the Novo mesto municipality in a referendum in 2006 and has been an independent municipality since January 1, 2007. Šmarješke Toplice is a health resort.
