Attractions
A natural area worth seeing is the Kadice Gorge, with rare plants and a waterfall. The wood industry is still an important industry today.
The pilgrimage church Nova Štifta is one of the most beautiful baroque churches in Slovenia. It was built in 1641. Their architectural style was the model for other buildings in the Dolenjska and Bela krajina regions . In 1780 a so-called 'holy staircase' was added. The main altar is decorated with wonderful carvings.
