The Premicon AG , based in Munich, is a provider of closed funds , mainly in the river cruise business and is also the main shareholder of the Cologne-Düsseldorf German Rheinschiffahrt . Premicon also sets up funds in the field of ocean cruises (“ Astor ”) and container shipping (eg “Atlanticon”) as well as real estate and biodiesel .

18 employees currently work at the company's headquarters in Munich (2008: 16; 2007: 11). In 2008, the company achieved sales of 7.4 million euros (2007: 9.6 million euros) and had total assets of 10.3 million euros at the end of 2008 (2007: 10.6 million euros). The company states the total annual sales for 2010 of all companies in which Premicon is involved at around 165 million euros. The wholly-owned subsidiary Transocean Kreuzfahrten has the largest share, around 100 million euros .
Since January 2000, Premicon has been the parent company of Cologne-Düsseldorf Deutsche Rheinschiffahrt to more than 98 percent (77 percent directly through Premicon, 21 percent through Premicon shareholders) . Premicon Biodiesel had to file for bankruptcy in May 2009. The biodiesel plant has now been sold to a company belonging to the Glencore Group.
In 2016 Premicon AG announced that it would sell its stake in KD AG. Since then, Premicon AG has withdrawn from its operational activities. Since then she has not actively published any company information.
fleet
25 river cruise ships are in use at Premicon. Many of the ships are managed by KD Cruise Services, Cyprus , are manned by nautical and technical personnel and are registered in Valletta , Malta . The service staff is provided by the Swiss-Cypriot company Gsell & Partner. Most of the ships are used in time charter by tour operators (Avalon, Nicko Tours, TUI and others). The ocean cruise ship Astor was operated by KD ship management in Bremen (nautical / technical). Due to persistent economic problems at the charterer Transocean, Premicon announced major restructuring in March 2013, both in the marketing of the ship and in the nautical management and hotel management. According to the prospectus, a charter through Transocean was originally planned for 2010-2018.
Together with the Neptun shipyard, Premicon developed the TwinCruiser, a new type of river cruise ship in which the aft propulsion unit was structurally separated from the passenger unit. This separation has the consequence that no engine vibrations are transmitted. All seven units built to date are owned by the company's investment funds, including the 5-star river cruise ship - the Thurgau Ultra .
