The Premiere Global Services, Inc. (brand name PGi ) is a global provider of communications services in the areas of virtual teamwork and conferences. The products essentially include audio, video and web conferences . PGi also offers software-as-a-service and cloud computing solutions for small, medium and large companies in 24 countries.

Every month nearly twelve million people around the world use the company's products for meetings and virtual teamwork. Customers include around 50,000 companies and 90 percent of the Fortune 500 .

history

In 1991, today's CEO and Chief Executive Officer Boland T. Jones founded Ptek Holdings, Inc. The merger of Premiere Technologies and Xpedite Systems resulted in Premiere Global Services in February 1998 .

The official name change from Ptek Holdings, Inc. to Premiere Global Services, Inc. took place on January 3, 2005. Premiere Global Services has recorded growth right from the start: sales rose from 381 million US dollars in 2003 to around 600 million US dollars in 2009.

Premiere Global Services is headquartered in Atlanta , Georgia. The company employs more than 2,300 people in offices around the world, including London, Tokyo, Sydney, Hong Kong, Paris, Frankfurt, New York, Chicago, Dublin and Austin.

In 2010 the new corporate brand PGi was introduced. The company still trades on the New York Stock Exchange NYSE as Premiere Global Services, Inc., but PGi is used as the name in all communications.

On December 8, 2015, PGI was taken over by Siris Capital Group .

  • November 2007 - Takeover of Meet24 , a conference and web teamwork provider from the Nordic region.
  • August 2008 - Acquisition of Soundpath Conferencing Services , a US audio and web conferencing provider.
  • February 2009 - Acquired LINK Conference Service, LLC , an audio and conference provider based in Seattle.
  • November 2009 - The Mansell Group , a US e-mail communications provider, takes over the e-marketing business of Premiere Global Services.
  • February 2010 - Premiere Global Services announces a partnership with AVi-SPL . Video conferencing solutions are offered as part of the partnership.

Products and Services

The proprietary products and the partner products include applications for web conferencing and telephone meetings as well as solutions for automated productivity improvement.

Conferences and teamwork

Premiere Global Services offers a variety of products for telephone conferencing, web conferencing, video conferencing and event conferencing services. In addition, the company offers various third-party web conferencing products through strategic partnerships with leading communication technology providers.
