Asphalt shingle are a typical DDR -Bedachung. As bitumen shingles, they are resistant to flying sparks and radiant heat in accordance with DIN 4102 Part 7 ( fire behavior ). Since they belong to building material class B2 ("normally flammable") according to DIN 4102 Part 1, they are considered hard roofs . Preolit shingles are laid as punched-out shaped sheets; the adjacent, connected shingles then have rectangular, triangular or beaver tail shapes.
