The Prestrud Inlet is an ice-covered bay at the Shirase coast of the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It is located on the south side of the Edward VII Peninsula on the northeastern edge of the Ross Ice Shelf .
Scientists of the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939-1941) named them after the Norwegian naval officer and polar explorer Kristian Prestrud (1881-1927), who was involved in the South Pole expedition (1910-1912) of the Norwegian polar explorer Roald Amundsen and the exploration team in this Area had headed.
