Prussian part is the name of an opening in chess . It has the ECO codes C57 to C59.

If the name was still used in the older chess literature as a synonym for all variants of the two-knight game in the aftermath ( 1. e2 – e4 e7 – e5 2. Ng1 – f3 Nb8 – c6 3. Bf1 – c4 Ng8 – f6 ), then in the list of the ECO codes currently only the continuation with 4. Nf3 – g5 d7 – d5 expressly designated as “Prussian”.

Instead, Black would have the option of playing 4.… Bf8 – c5 !? to catch up with the sharp Traxler counterattack of the two-knight game.

After 5. e4xd5 Black should offer a gambit .
