The Prussian Ministry for People's Welfare was re-established after the November Revolution in 1919 and dissolved in 1932.

tasks

Its tasks were those of a social ministry . It brought together various areas of responsibility that were previously distributed across five ministries. This included the departments for public health, housing and settlement, youth welfare and general welfare. The seat of the ministry was the building of the former Prussian manor house .

The scope and variety of the tasks of the new ministry was so great that they could only be compared with that of the interior ministry . Since the legislative competence in this area lay mainly with the Reich, the new Prussian Ministry was primarily an authority to implement the resolutions at the Reich level. In addition, some laws were drawn up in the ministry itself in order to meet certain imperial law requirements. In the first few years after it was founded, the focus was on eliminating the housing shortage caused by the decline in housing construction during the war .

The financial problems of the state led precisely during the Great Depression to the ministry after the blow to Prussia was dissolved 1,932th
