Prey Veng ( Khmer : ក្រុង ព្រៃវែង ) is the capital of the Cambodian province of the same name .

It lies at an altitude of seven meters above sea level and has about 40,000 inhabitants. The city is located on National Road 11 between Nak Loeung and Kampong Cham .
