Princeton University Press

Princeton University Press is an independent publisher headquartered in Princeton , New Jersey, United States, and with close ties to Princeton University . The publishing house, which was founded in 1905 , has a very good reputation for its publications in scientific circles.

Unlike most American university publishers, Princeton University Press does not receive financial support from the university, nor is it owned by the university. Originally founded as a private company, the publishing house was converted into a not-for-profit company - a nonprofit corporation - in 1910 .

Six books by the publisher have so far won a Pulitzer Prize . The best-known publications include the Smyth Report from 1945 and the publications by Albert Einstein by long-time editor and editor Alice Calaprice .

Today the publisher publishes around 200 books a year according to its own information.
