The Privateer Point ( English for buccaneer's tip ) is a headland on King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located 3 km west of False Round Point at the eastern end of the mouth of the Drake Glacier in the Corsair Bight .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named them after the profession of Francis Drake (≈1540–1596).
