The Privilège Marine shipyard is a French luxury catamaran manufacturer based in Les Sables-d'Olonne . Sailing catamarans are produced and sold under the PRIVILEGE brand and motor yacht catamarans under the EUPHORIE brand.
history
The two-time world champion in single-handed sailing and inventor of the Vendée Globe Philippe Jeantot originally designed a catamaran for his family. This should serve for a life on board during their visits. In 1985 he founded "Jeantot Marine" and presented his first yacht in Paris. This later renamed “Privilège Marine” and in 1989 was the leading manufacturer of catamarans. The Privilège 45 and Privilège 42 were voted Boat of the Year in the USA in 1995 and 1996. In 1996 the brand grew under the leadership of "Alliaura" and expanded its market position. Over 60 yachts between 18 and 23 meters have been delivered all over the world. The Privilège 745 was the flagship of the fleet. In 2012 Alliaura Marine had to file for bankruptcy. In 2012 the Privilège Marine company was opened and the headquarters moved to Les Sables d'Olonne. Gilles Wagner is the managing director. In May 2017, AURELIUS Equity Opportunities SE & Co. KGaA - the parent company of HanseYachts AG - bought the majority stake in Privilège Marine .
