The ProRail BV is the largest railway infrastructure companies of the Netherlands . Over 4000 employees look after around 7000 km of railway line.
The company provides services in three business areas.
- Railinfrabeheer (railway infrastructure)
- Railned (allocation of track capacity)
- Railverkeersleiding (traffic management)
ProRail is based in Utrecht . The Dutch state is a 100% shareholder through Railinfratrust BV .
The rail network usage fees ( train path prices ) are graded according to train weight (as of 2008).
