The ProWein is a leading international trade fair on the subject of wine and spirits . The wine fair has been held in Düsseldorf every March since 1994 . The trade fair organizer is Messe Düsseldorf GmbH , which with ProWein is pursuing the concept of providing an international overview of wines.

In 2018 ProWein took place from March 18th to 20th. Since 2015, Messe Düsseldorf has initiated offshoots with ProWine China in Shanghai and ProWine Asia in Singapore / Hong Kong in order to better reach the Asian market. ProWine Asia took place in Singapore from April 24 to 27, 2018.

In contrast to the competing wine fairs in Bordeaux ( Vinexpo ) or Verona ( Vinitaly ), the focus of the fair is on the degustation or tasting .
