Progress Energy is the principal owner and operator of the Brunswick , Crystal River 3 , HB Robinson and Shearon Harris nuclear power plants .

history

The company was created in 2000 through the merger of the companies "Carolina Power & Light" and "Florida Progress Corporation". Progress Energy supplies electricity and natural gas as an energy company primarily to customers in the southeastern United States. In July 2012 the company merged with Duke Energy.
