Prolight + Sound

The Prolight + Sound is a four-day international trade fair in Frankfurt around event technology . Prolight + Sound and the parallel music fair are visited by visitors from over 150 countries every year. Most recently, 43 percent of the visitors and 63 percent of the exhibitors came from outside Germany.

history

The fair has been held annually in the first quarter of the year since 2001. However, it existed a few years earlier as a parallel event to the Musikmesse , from whose event technology area it emerged in 1995. Since 2001, the event has also concentrated on global markets and has since organized further sister trade fairs in China, Russia and Dubai. It is represented by Messe Frankfurt in 161 countries.

In 2020, it was one of the events that was canceled due to the appearance of the coronavirus.

In addition to the specialist exhibition, further training is offered for trade visitors (workshops, product presentations and seminars). Various conferences and lectures will also take place. Outdoor stages, such as the Live Sound Arenas, show sound systems under live conditions.

Awards ceremonies

  • PRG Live Entertainment Award: The Prolight + Sound kick-off event takes place with the presentation of the PRG Live Entertainment Award (LEA) in the Festhalle Frankfurt. Outstanding achievements in the event industry are honored in 14 categories.
  • PIPA - Prolight + Sound International Press Award: The PIPA is determined by specialist journalists and awarded to highlight work in the audio and video industry.
  • Opus - German Stage Prize: Opus Prize winners distinguish themselves through outstanding productions and events in the fields of theater and stage productions as well as live and open-air events.
  • Sinus - Systems Integration Award: The Sinus honors projects that use media technology and system integration in an innovative and pioneering way.
  • mondo * dr Award: As part of Prolight + Sound, the mondo * dr magazine presents its own award that honors fixed entertainment installations. Manufacturers, distributors, installers, lighting designers, architects, acousticians, consultants and event operators can apply in a total of five categories:
