Boardwalk Adventure

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Promenade adventure is a polka mazurka which is attributed to Johann Strauss Sohn but originates from Josef Bayer . The date and place of the premiere are not known.

Remarks

The polka was put together based on motifs from the ballet Cinderella . Johann Strauss died on June 3, 1899, leaving behind a fragment of a ballet called Cinderella . The composer Josef Bayer later completed this fragment and performed the ballet for the first time on May 2, 1901 in Berlin. It is no longer possible to understand whether the themes dealt with in this polka are still from Strauss or from Bayer. The completion of the polka goes back to Joseph Bayer.

The playing time on the CD listed under individual records is 4 minutes and 49 seconds. This time can vary somewhat depending on the conductor's musical conception.
