history
The magazine was founded in 1983 by the brothers Hans-Christian Bues and Andreas Bues in Königswinter. At that point, the magazine was the first of its kind to specialize exclusively in the RV theme and became the market leader . The magazine has belonged to the Motor Presse Stuttgart publishing house since 1988, and the editorial office has also been based in Stuttgart since 1990 .
Content
In the first few years, the magazine developed test ideas that are still part of promobil's repertoire today, such as the comparison test. In 1988 the Supercheck was introduced, a test that collects detailed data. In 1994 promobil first tested the insulation properties of mobile homes with thermographic technology .
Promobil is committed to expanding the motorhome parking space network in Germany and Europe. Since 1992, the magazine has made “Parking spaces for collecting” available in the magazine, and in spring 1993 promobil published the first RV atlas with 25 parking spaces.
