A proteinoplast (from ancient Greek πρωτεῖος proteios , German 'fundamental' and ancient Greek πλαστός plastós , German 'formed' ) is a colorless plastid ( leukoplast ) that has differentiated itself from a proplastid to store proteins and enzymes .
