Provo Utah Temple (English: Provo Utah Temple , formerly: Provo Temple ) is a temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Provo , which was dedicated in 1972.

The construction of the Provo Temple was announced in 1969 at the same time as that of the Ogden Temple , with which it shares the design. Both structures were planned by Emil B. Fetzer , the LDS house architect at the time. Approximately 6.9 hectares (17 acres) in front of the entrance to the Rock Canyon in the northeast of the city was selected as the building site. The site was consecrated and groundbreaking on September 15, 1969. After its completion, the temple was dedicated on February 9, 1972 by LDS President Joseph Fielding Smith .

The Provo Utah Temple has six ordinance rooms and twelve sealing rooms. Its usable area is around 12,000 m². In 2003, a golden Moroni statue was placed on the top of the tower . Adjacent to the temple grounds is a training center for LDS missionaries.
