A process-related component , PNK for short ( FCS for Field Control Station ), is a component of a process control system in automation technology that is directly connected to the field devices such as sensors and actuators . A process-related component can include a programmable logic controller (PLC), an intelligent sensor with a fieldbus connection or the process station of a process control system.
