Psoi Galaktionowitsch Korolenko ( Russian Псой Галактионович Короленко , actually: Павел Эдуардович Лион , Pavel Eduardovich Lion26. April 1967 in Moscow ) is the pseudonym of a Russian-Jewish songwriter, chanson singer and performance artist. Under his real name he has also made a name for himself as a Slavist .

biography

Korolenko's pseudonym is an allusion to the Russian writer Wladimir Korolenko (1853–1921), whose works the Slavist researched.

Korolenko sings his own songs as well as songs from other sources, accompanying himself with various keyboard instruments, mainly a Casio synthesizer. He varies different song traditions and sings in several languages, especially Russian, Yiddish, English and French. Psoi Korolenko tours extensively abroad, especially in the US and Europe.
