Psychosomatosis

Under a Psychosomatose refers to a disease for which there is on the one hand, an organic correlate with morphological changes, but are presumed also that psychological factors have a significant influence on the origin and history. The psychological diagnosis according to ICD-10 is coded with F54 ( Psychological factors and behavioral factors in diseases classified elsewhere ) in combination with the corresponding physical diagnosis.

In the literature it is occasionally pointed out that tension headache could also be coded in combination with F54. In the ICD-10, however, tension headaches (G44.2) are excluded. Tension headache can also be coded as F45.4.
