The Psyma Group AG is a holding company for a network of market research institutes , mostly as limited liability companies will operate under the name "Psyma + suffix". Psyma is currently number 43 in the global ranking (in terms of sales), the sixth largest market research institute and the largest purely owner-managed in Germany. history

The company, founded by Reinhold Bergler , Manfred Hambitzer and Klaus Haupt in 1957 and initially operating under the name “Arbeitsgruppe für Psychologische Marktanalysen”, is considered to be a major pioneer of psychological market research in German-speaking countries. In the 1960s it was also the largest psychologically oriented market research institute in Germany.

The subject of investigation were depth psychological, qualitative interviews. In 1967 one of the first professional departments for pharmaceutical market research in Germany was established. International expansion has been accelerated since the 1990s (as of March 2012: 16 companies in a total of 13 countries).

The company's founder, Klaus Haupt, received the German Market Research Award from the BVM in 2010 for the establishment and international expansion of today's PSYMA Group and his commitment to market research . In 2001 he was honored with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany for his entrepreneurial and voluntary work.

In July 2016, Klaus Haupt resigned as chairman of the Psyma Group supervisory board and his deputy Christian Ryssel took over as chairman.

Business areas

Psyma covers various business areas in Germany that are oriented towards industries: medical technology & pharmaceuticals, FMCG / NuG, media, automotive, financial services, fashion & cosmetics, IT / TC, sport & leisure as well as retail and leads a large number of these topics every year Studies through. Methods

The traditional focus is on ad hoc projects in the field of qualitative market research .
