Ptolemy Apion ( Greek  Πτολεμαῖος Ἀπίων ; * after 154; † 96 BC ) was a son of Ptolemy VIII and a concubine , perhaps Eirene . Determined in the father's will to be King of Cyrene , Apion could probably only take over his inheritance around the years 105/101, when he appeared as an independent contractual partner in the treaties concluded with Rome to contain the pirate plague in the Mediterranean. Apion died in 96 BC. Without leaving an heir.

Apion bequeathed his kingdom to the Roman Republic in his will .
