The military diploma of 117 AD

Publius Afranius Flavianus was a Roman politician living in the 2nd century AD .

Flavianus was 104 Legatus proconsulis of the governor of the province of Asia . Through military diplomas , e.g. Some of them are dated September 1, 114, it is documented that he was 114 praetoric governor ( Legatus Augusti pro praetore ) in the province of Pannonia inferior ; he is likely to have held this office from 111/112 to 114/115. Another diploma, which is dated August 16, 117, proves that he was 117 together with Lucius Cossonius Gallus suffect consul . Under Hadrian he was governor ( proconsul ) of Asia.
