Publius Cornelius Lentulus Caudinus (Praetor)
Publius Cornelius Lentulus Caudinus was a Roman senator , politician, and military officer.
Publius Cornelius Lentulus Caudinus belonged to the Lentuli branch of the Cornelier family . He was probably the son of the consul of the same name in 236 BC. And nephew of the previous censor and princeps senatus Lucius Cornelius Lentulus Caudinus . 210 BC Caudinus served in Spain under Publius Cornelius Scipio Africanus . A year later he became aedile . In 203 he was elected praetor and sent to Sardinia in this capacity . The following year he became a propaetor and embarked from Sardinia for Africa to support Scipio in the decisive battles against the Carthaginians under Hannibal . After that he was a member of several "ten-man colleges" ( Decemviri ). 196 BC He went as envoy to Greece and Asia Minor , 189/88 BC. BC again to Asia Minor.
