Publius Sulpicius Saverrio (Consul 279 BC)

Publius Sulpicius Saverrio was a Roman statesman at the time of the Pyrrhic Wars.

His father was the consul of the same name in 304 BC. He was elected consul with Publius Decius Mus in 279 , with whom he fought in the lost battle of Asculum against Pyrrhos , where Decius fell.

Nothing is known about the further life of Saverrio; there is no direct connection to the later Sulpicii in the time of the First Punic War because of their different origins.
