Publius Decius Mus (Consul 279 BC)
Publius Decius Mus († 279 BC at Asculum ?) Was a politician of the Roman Republic and consul in 279 BC. Chr.
He suffered in 279 BC In the battle of Asculum a defeat against Pyrrhus . Like his grandfather and father , he is said to have sacrificed his life in battle through devotio . Tradition is very uncertain that he was born in 265 BC. Chr. Suffektkonsul was what the devotio can -Handlung appear all the more implausible.
