Pucará from Tilcara in Argentina

A Pucará ( Quechua pukara Fortress) is one of the Inca or other indigenous people of Central Andes built fortress . Pucarás are found in Ecuador , Peru , Bolivia , northern Chile and northwest Argentina , where they are also called Pucara (stress on the second syllable).

Today the term is widely used as a toponym in the Andean region.
